Pendleton Troopers Help Capture Armed Robbery Suspect
Madison County – Yesterday afternoon around 12:20 p.m. Madison County Dispatch put out an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Pilot Truck Stop at SR 13 and I-69. The suspect, a white male, had left the scene in a semi pulling a box trailer.
There were several troopers in the area on I-69, and they immediately began watching the highway and the exits. Detective Dave Preston, along with off duty Trooper Sam Cook, were nearby in the Anderson area, and began checking businesses just off the interstate for the semi.
Around 12:40 p.m. Detective Preston spotted a truck fitting the description parked in the Nestle Plant truck lot, on West 73rd St., just off of the I-69 exit #222 for MLK. He watched as the driver, who fit the description of the robbery suspect, exit the truck and began walking through the lot.
Detective Preston and Trooper Cook, along with Pendleton Officers, made contact with the driver, Terry Jones, age 52 of Indianapolis, and determined he was the suspect in the robbery. Jones was turned over to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
Please direct any questions reference the armed robbery investigation to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, or the Ingalls Police Department.
