Troopers Arrest Three after Locating Marijuana Plants
Clay County---On Friday afternoon, September 23, 2016, Indiana State Police troopers developed information related to marijuana cultivation on the property near the 7100 block of East Private Road 375 North, Poland.
At the site and at two different locations on the property, troopers located fourteen (14) cultivated marijuana plants. Inside an RV on the property, troopers located three individuals, miscellaneous marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia. All three were arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail.
Arrested: David Lee Schlenker, age 25, of Yorktown, IN. (Property Owner)
Charges: Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Maintaining Common Nuisance
Arrested: Jonathan M. Smith, age 28, Anderson, IN
Charges: Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance
Arrested: Travis O. Matthews, age 27, Indianapolis, IN.
Charges: Visiting a Common Nuisance
The case was investigated by ISP Sergeant Jared Nicoson and Troopers Jason Kempf and Shilo Raulston. Assisting was the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
