The Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post received the call around 1:00 p.m. from the Williamsport Police Department to assist with a fire investigation at 5 Jackson St. after firefighters discovered a body inside the residence. After the initial investigation, it was determined that the fire was an apparent arson to possibly cover up the murder. Senior Trooper Josh Edwards along with officers from Williamsport PD and Warren County Sheriff’s Department started to gather information at the scene that lead them to believe that Kincade was their suspect.

Information was received that the Kincade suspect was driving a gray 2007 Pontiac Torrent SUV. It was spotted eastbound on CR 300 east in Warren County heading towards SR 63. Trooper Edwards spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a stop on the vehicle. The vehicle sped away crossing SR 63 and continued into the small town of Carbondale. It continued east on CR 300 north when it crashed into a white ford pickup and then veered into a cornfield on the south side of the road where the drive fled on foot.

A perimeter was set up and with the help of numerous police agencies and K-9, an attempt to locate Kincade was unsuccessful. A search of more than four hours turned up no sign of Kincade. The investigation is continuing.
