<p>The National Weather Service Office in Topeka has issued a tornado watch for Clay and nearby counties until 9 PM. &nbsp;Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and be ready to move to safety quickly. &nbsp;Do not rely on social media sources for warning information. Do not rely on outdoor warning sirens. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Expect storms to begin to develop between 3 and 5 this afternoon in the Clay County area. &nbsp;Any storms that develop today can quickly become severe. &nbsp;The main threats will be damaging wind and hail, heavy rain and the possibility of tornados.</p>
