INCIDENT: H&S 11377 - Possession of dangerous drug

LOCATION: First St. and King St., Daggett

SUSPECT: Donald Clifford, age 50, Transient


SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 5, 2016 Deputy Mamon conducted a proactive law enforcement contact on a female near a vehicle that had been dumped in the desert at an abandoned residence. He contacted the female near a motorhome. She provided her personal information and identified the male subject inside the motorhome as Donald Clifford. Deputies were advised by Sheriff's dispatch Clifford had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Donald Clifford initially refused to exit the motorhome. Additional deputies responded to the location to assist and Clifford eventually exited the motorhome and was arrested without incident. During a search of the motorhome deputies located a metal container with several baggies of suspected methamphetamine.

Donald Clifford was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on his active warrant. He is being held without bail. The completed investigation will be sent to the District Attorney for review.

Deputies located a stolen vehicle which had been recently abandoned on the property. The vehicle was recovered and the owner was advised.
