Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Sikeston man is in jail on drug related charges.
Lee Michael Griggs (27) Sikeston is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Walter conducted a vehicle stop on Griggs Thursday afternoon when he noticed a vehicle license violation. The vehicle was towed to the Sheriff's Office after multiple violations were discovered along questionable ownership of the vehicle.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, a substance believed to be methamphetamine and another substance believed to be marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle were articles of property believed to be stolen.
Griggs was also issued traffic citations for multiple violations. Walter expects additional charges to be filed once property owners have had the opportunity to examine articles that were recovered.
Griggs remains in the Scott County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
