Entry to Dare County and Currituck Outer Banks still restricted to Priority One and Two individuals.

Entry to Dare County and to Currituck County Outer Banks continues to be restricted. Significant portions of Dare County are still experiencing hazardous road conditions and power outages. Access to Dare County will be permitted only for the following - Priority One - Essential Personnel - including essential personnel for utilities, government, medical and damage assessment. Priority Two - Permanent Residents Essential Personnel for Critical Businesses - Permanent Residents will be allowed reentry with a valid NC driver license with a local address or a current County property tax receipt. Residents attempting travel between the Bonner Bridge and Rodanthe are advised to use extreme caution due to large amounts of sand and water on NC Highway 12. NCDOT is working to address the situation. Until conditions improve, only residents and essential personnel with permits should attempt to travel this area and do so only in high profile 4-wheel drive vehicles.
