The Town of Kitty Hawk remains under a State of Emergency 
The Town remains under a State of Emergency. Access within the Town is restricted to permanent residents of Dare County, essential personnel for critical businesses and emergency response and recovery personnel.
NC HWY 12 has been undermined by ocean over-wash; at the Kitty Hawk Bath House near the intersection of E. Kitty Hawk Road and that portion of NC 12 between White Street and Starfish is is closed. Pumping operations have begun at Byrd;Street and the Town is working to set up additional pumps at affected areas between the highways.
