Bridge/Road Closure Update.

As it stands now, the following bridges are open:

Blacks Bridge on Golfview Drive is open. NCDOT has closed one lane and coned the center lane into a travel lane. This will allow residents from the Fairway Forest/Steeplechase subdivisions to access their neighborhoods and travel towards North Main Street. However, there is a large sinkhole on Black's Bridge Road in the area of Golfview Baptist Church making Black's Bridge Road impassable in this area. Motorists who commonly travel into Hope Mills on Black's Bridge from the area of Lake Upchurch Road need to find an alternate route of travel into Hope Mills.

The bridge on Camden Road near the bypass is open.

The following bridges are closed:

The South Main Street/Parkton Road bridge is still under water and closed. Motorists traveling on South Main Street to the Gray's Creek and US301 area can detour around the Parkton Road intersection by turning left onto Cameron Road, right onto Calico Road and then right onto Porter Road. Travel on Porter Road to Chickenfoot Road and turn left to go towards US301. Motorists traveling from the US301/Grays Creek area can use the above route in reverse. Motorists should be aware that US301 is closed in the area of Tom Starling Road.

The bridge on Legion Road near Cameron Road is still closed. There is no safe detour around this area at this time.

The bridge on Hope Mills Road near Camden Road is closed in both directions of travel. Motorists can use the detour established by NCDOT last week to travel around this area.

Water is still standing on the roadway in the area of Rockfish Road and Sommer Drive and Rockfish Road is still closed. There is also standing water on various roadways throughout the residential areas of Hope Mills. Do not drive through standing water or, around barricades. This is extremely unsafe.
