Polk County Sheriff's Office Charges Asheville Man with Setting Fire to Home and Indecent Liberties with a Child 
On September 22, 2016 the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a structure fire involving a residence at 411 Champion Rd. Tryon, NC. After an investigation into the situation, Detectives determined that the fire had been intentionally set as part of a domestic dispute. At the conclusion of the investigation Detectives charged Mr. Ascencion Ramirez Jr., age 34, of 25 Karen's Place Asheville, NC, with two counts of Assault on a Female, two counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Domestic Criminal Trespass, and Second Degree Arson. A bond was not initially authorized for Mr. Ramirez in this matter.
Pursuant to another investigation that had been ongoing at the time of the above events, Detectives also charged Mr. Ramirez Jr. with three counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child on October 5, 2016. The bond for Mr. Ramirez on these charges was set at $80,000.00 by the Magistrate.
