<p>A fire at Allan Hancock College is under investigation. At 10:10 AM, four engines and a Battalion Chief from the Santa Maria Fire Department responded to a report of a heater on fire in the pool maintenance area. The initial crew was met by AHC Staff and directed to a natural gas fired heater in the men’s gymnasium locker room. Crews found smoke throughout the locker room and a fire extinguished by AHC Staff. Investigation established that unidentified person(s) placed combustible materials on top of the heater which ignited through contact with the heater. The fire caused minor damage and the building was evacuated as crews removed smoke.</p>
