Local Car Thief Collared Again by Anderson P.D.
<p>On Monday, October 17th 2016, 47 year old, Matthew Aaron Gould of Redding was taken into custody by Anderson Police Officer’s. At around 10:00 P.M., an Anderson Police Officer saw Gould briskly walking away from a stolen Honda, Civic, that GOULD had just parked in the area of Ox Yoke Road and Hirsch Ct. The officer contacted GOULD who initially said he did not know anything about the Honda. GOULD, who was found to be in possession of the Honda’s keys was detained and immediately changed his story to police, saying he had just purchased it off of Craigslist.</p>
<p>GOULD was caught by Anderson Police on a stolen motorcycle back in August 2016 at the Anderson Jack in the Box. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest concerning that case and he had just been arrested on the warrant earlier in the day on October 17th 2016. After being released on his own recognizance, he was caught in the aforementioned stolen Honda Civic.</p>
<p>The victim and owner of the Honda was contacted by Anderson Police and later responded to the scene. The victim did not know GOULD or his girlfriend who also arrived on scene. GOULD was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for suspicion of vehicle theft, possessing a stolen motor vehicle and for committing a felony while on release from custody on O.R. (own recognizance). Felony charges will be filed with the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.</p>
