Plain Township man dies after becoming trapped in farm silo.
On October 20, 2016 the Wayne County Sheriff's Office responded with the Wooster Township Fire Department to the report of a man trapped in a farm silo at 3896 Maple Grove Rd in Plain Twp. Upon arrival Fire officials discovered that Rhett Acker age 32 was trapped in the silo the family farm.
It appears that the man was climbing the silo when he slipped and fell and became wedged in the compartment that encircles the silo ladder.
<Members of the Wooster Township and Wooster City fire departments were successful in extracting the man from the silo but sadly the man had died prior that. Wayne County Coroner Amy Jolliff also responded and her office is investigating the cause of death.
