Traffic Stop Ends With Felony Arrest
Henry County – Around 4:15 p.m. yesterday, Pendleton Trooper Blake Stephenson was working traffic on I-70 around the 125mm in Henry County, when he clocked a west bound Lincoln passenger car at 98 M.P.H. Stephenson got the car stopped around the 124mm and made contact with the driver, Donyea Gerald Ardis, age 43 of Indianapolis.
Ardis had no license in his possession, and it was later found that he was driving while suspended with a prior conviction. It was also discovered that Ardis was wanted on a Marion County warrant for Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction. Trooper Justin Beamon was nearby and came to assist Stephenson.
Further investigation by the troopers found that Ardis was also in possession of nearly 4 ounces of marijuana. Ardis was lodged in the Henry County Jail charged with Possession of Marijuana over Thirty Grams, Level 6 Felony and misdemeanor Driving While Suspended with a prior conviction. In addition he was lodged on the misdemeanor warrant for Driving While Suspended.
