Deputies arrest subject in stolen vehicle; seeking ID and whereabouts of second outstanding suspect

LOCATION: 25000 block of Bejoal St. in Barstow
SUSPECT(S): 1. Pete Perez, 37 years of age and a resident of Colton
2. Unknown Hispanic female adult approx. 25-27 years of age.
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 20, 2016, Sheriff’s Deputies from the Barstow Station conducted surveillance on a reported stolen vehicle out of the City of Fontana California. The vehicle was found parked on the 25000 block of Bejoal St. in the county area of Barstow. While surveilling the vehicle, a Hispanic male and female were seen entering the vehicle in an attempt to drive away. The deputies approached the subjects and were able to detain the Hispanic male who was sitting in the driver’s seat. The female fled on foot, running through residential homes in the area, and was able elude capture. Despite a search of the area and checks with local residents, the female remains outstanding and her whereabouts are unknown. The stolen vehicle was recovered and stored at a local tow yard in Barstow. The vehicle was processed for latent finger prints in hopes to identify the involved suspects.
