Sonoma Police Department seeks help in identifying felony hit and run vehicle

On 10/21/16, at approximately 4:00 PM, deputies from the Sonoma Police Department were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian that had be struck by a vehicle while crossing Broadway at Andrieux Street in Sonoma.
Upon arrival the first deputy found that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian while he was crossing Broadway in the crosswalk. The vehicle had fled the scene prior to the deputy's arrival and was last seen driving northbound on Broadway in the area of Patten Street. Several other motorist and pedestrians in the area witnessed the collision and stopped to render aid to the victim who was still lying in the roadway.
Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority also responded to the scene and subsequently transported the victim to the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa for treatment. The victim was treated for significant injuries and is recovering.
The suspect vehicle is described as being a grey or silver sedan with a shattered windshield, possibly a Mitsubishi Eclipse or Pontiac Grand Am, with a white male driver in his 20s.
We ask that any business owner or resident along Broadway and/or adjoining streets that have security cameras to review their security recordings for the time frame of 3:45 to 4:00 PM for any information that might assist in the investigation.
The collision is being investigated by accident investigators from the Sonoma and Windsor Police Departments. Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information about the driver or vehicle are asked to contact the Sonoma Police Department at (707) 996-3601.
