Rocky River Police arrest three after kidnapping
City of Rocky River Police Division Alert October 23, 2016 This morning, at approximately 11:00 AM, the Rocky River Police Department took a call reporting a kidnapping on Detroit Rd. near Linda St. The caller provided a good description of the vehicle involved and its occupants. Within minutes, Rocky River Police located and stopped the vehicle, ensured the safety of the victim, and made three arrests. Police have determined that the victim, a 26-year-old Cleveland woman, knew and had a prior relationship with the suspects, that they were having a dispute over property, and that illegal drugs were involved. Three adults from Parma and Parma Heights have been arrested in this regard. There is no reason to believe that there is a continued or ongoing threat to public safety as a result of this incident. Rocky River remains a safe community in which to live and work. However, no level of violence or property crime is deemed acceptable. The Police Department continues to work to investigate crimes that have occurred, proactively prevent crimes from occurring, and build relationships in the community to enhance crime prevention and awareness. One of several community outreach events regarding crime prevention and other important topics will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM, in Memorial Hall at the Rocky River Civic Center. Police Chief Kelly Stillman, Westshore Enforcement Bureau Special Agent in Charge Jeff Capretto, and Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Detective John Morgan will discuss crime prevention and solutions at this community forum. All are welcomed to attend.
