Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrests
Muncie – Last night just before 9 p.m., as Trooper Sam Cook was driving through Muncie, he saw a car turn from Jackson St. onto southbound Madison St. without a turn signal. Cook activated his lights and got the car stopped at Madison and Charles St. The car was occupied by four adults, so Troopers Tinch and Harvey, who were nearby, came to assist.
After making contact with the female driver, Cook could smell the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed a small bag of powder believed to be Heroin, and two handguns. One of the handguns had the serial number removed. The vehicle owner, Gunner Clark, age 24 of Muncie, was in the front passenger seat.
Clark was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of an Altered Handgun, Level 6 felonies, and also two counts of Possession a Firearm without a License, “A” Misdemeanor. He was lodged in the Delaware County Jail.
Also arrested was a fifteen year old male in the back seat. He was charged with the above charges, and in addition was charged with Probation Violation and Failure to Provide Identity. He was lodged in a juvenile detention facility. The female driver and other male passenger were released at the scene.
