Indianapolis Man Arrested After a Pursuit that Ended With a Crash Into an Apartment Building

Indianapolis - At approximately 8:15 this evening, a vehicle pursuit ended with the suspect vehicle crashing into an apartment building. Trooper Jacob Wildauer attempted to pull over a red 2016 Ford Focus for speeding near the 3600 block of North Post Road. The Ford refused to stop and sped north on Post Road through the intersection of 42nd Street and eventually crashed while turning into an apartment complex just north of 42nd Street on Post Road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Occupants inside the apartment were checked by the Indianapolis Fire Department, but thankfully no injuries were reported. 

The suspect, who initially refused to identify himself to police, was later identified as 37 year old Michael Bland of Indianapolis. He was transported to the Marion County Adult Processing Center on preliminary charges including resisting law enforcement with a vehicle. 

This is an ongoing investigation, since an arrest was made any further inquiries into this case shall be directed to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office. Preliminary charges are merely accusations of a crime, all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
