ROLL OVER CRASH CRITICALLY INJURES DRIVER

Lake County-A roll over crash, yesterday evening, sent two people to the hospital, one being critically injured after being ejected out of the car.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kim Zelnis revealed that at approximately 6:40 p.m., yesterday, October 24th, 2016, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Terrance D. Nunnally Junior, 23 of Chicago, Illinois, was north bound on I-65 in the left lane near at the 244 mile marker (this is three miles south of the Crown Point exit).

Nunnally changed lanes from the left to the right and drove off the road onto the gravel.  He overcorrected, lost control, and ran the Pontiac off the road a second time.  This caused the car to roll multiple times, Nunnally who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car.  He landed approximately 60 feet away from the Pontiac in the ditch on the east side of the road.

A passenger, Charlotte M. Daniels, 20 of Rensselaer, Indiana, was wearing a seat belt and had non-life threatening injuries.  She was taken to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point.

Nunnally has life threatening injuries and was initially taken to Saint Anthony’s Hospital and was later flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Family has been notified.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.

Assisting: Sergeants Scott Krueger and Ryan Myers, Troopers Jerry George, James Brasseur, and Paul Arnold, Crown Point Fire and EMS, and Purkey’s Towing
