(Fort Wayne, IN)-Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Corporal Anthony L. Canul to the rank of Sergeant and has transferred him to the Human Resources Division to serve as the Employment Services Section Coordinator.
Canul is a native of South Bend, Indiana and a 1999 graduate of Washington High School. In 2005, Canul earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Affairs with a major in Health Services Administration and minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). On July 8, 2007, he graduated from the 67th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy as a Trooper and was assigned to the Toll Road Post.
In 2012, Canul transferred to the Fort Wayne Post and in 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as a District Duty Officer until the summer of 2016 when he took a temporary duty assignment in the Human Resources Division at the State Police General Headquarters in Indianapolis. Also in 2016, Canul earned a Master's Degree in Public Management with a major in Public Administration and Policy from IPFW.
Canul will help oversee the employment selection processes for Indiana State Police Troopers, Indiana State Capitol Police Officers and the Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Division.
