Trooper Jails Driver for 114mph
Vermillion County—This afternoon around 1:15, the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office received three 911 calls reporting a driver operating at a high rate of speed southbound on State Road 63 from the area of US 36. The suspect vehicle was reportedly a black 2017 Dodge Challenger. The sheriff’s office then notified deputies and troopers in the area to look for the violator.
Moments later, Master Trooper Ty Lightle was on routine patrol and clocked the southbound vehicle at 114 miles-per-hour just north of County Road 1450 South. Master Trooper Lightle stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 41-year-old Waymon J. Anderson of Chicago, Illinois. Anderson was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Vermillion County Jail on a charge of Reckless Driving (misdemeanor). Anderson immediately bonded out and continued on his way to Terre Haute where he was reportedly late for a meeting.
The incarceration is the policy in Vermillion County for operating at an extremely high rate of speed.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
