Fort Wayne Post Welcomes Three New Troopers
(Fort Wayne, IN)-Three new troopers reported for duty today at the Indiana State Police post in Fort Wayne. They were three of 55 new troopers reporting to their districts of assignment following graduation from the 76th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy which took place on Thursday, October 20th.
These three men completed 22 weeks of intense training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield. During the training period, the recruits received in excess of 950 hours of law enforcement training which included criminal law, emergency vehicle operations, traffic law as well as training in other facets of law enforcement including criminal investigation, crash investigation, self-defense, first responder, and other general law enforcement related areas of instruction.
The newest members of the Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne are:
- Probationary Trooper Jared J. Fradenburgh, 21 is a native of Middletown, Indiana and was a home schooled student who earned his high school diploma in 2013. He attended Ball State University for one year and studied Criminal Justice before joining the Army National Guard where he has served for the last two-and-a-half years. Fradenburgh will be assigned to patrol duties in Allen County.
- Probationary Trooper Michael A. Garcia, 24 is a native of Gas City, Indiana and is a 2010 graduate of Mississinewa High School. In December of 2013, he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Ball State University and he has served in the Army National Guard for the last six years. Garcia will be assigned to patrol duties in Allen County.
- Probationary Trooper David E. Kewish, 25 is a native of Huntington, Indiana and is a 2009 graduate of Huntington North High School. Following high school, he attended Indiana University Purdue University in Fort Wayne (IPFW) and studied Mathematics Education. He also attended Ivy Tech and studied Criminal Justice. From December 2015 to May 2016, Kewish served his community as a Reserve Deputy with the Huntington County Sheriff Department. Kewish, a Huntington County resident who is married with three children, will be assigned patrol duties in Huntington County.
