Off-Duty Trooper Locates Unresponsive Male in Ditch
Putnam County—This evening at 6:00, off-duty Indiana State Police Trooper Colton Maynor of the Putnamville Post, was westbound on US 40 approaching US 231, when he noticed a noticed a male lying on his back in the ditch on the north side of US 40. Trooper Maynor stopped to check on the male and found him unresponsive. Trooper Maynor summoned EMS personnel and then utilized physical stimulus to bring the male to a semi-conscious state. Maynor continued to monitor the victim’s vital signs until arrival of paramedics from Putnam County Operation Life.
The 21-year-old Indianapolis man was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment where he was found to be under the influence of Hydrocodone and Xanax and was experiencing mental health issues.
The young man was reportedly walking westbound and collapsed, prior to being found by Trooper Maynor.
Assisting were deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and paramedics from Putnam County Operation Life.
