Chula Vista Building in Green Homes Tour (11/12/16)

On Saturday, November 12, 2016, the San Diego Green Building Council (SDGBC), an environmental nonprofit dedicated to providing education, outreach and advocacy focused on green building in the San Diego community, will offer its Green Homes Tour spotlighting projects throughout the county utilizing best practices in green building and design. 10 residential projects located throughout the county will be showcased, including Mission Hills, Pacific Beach, Poway, Ocean Beach, Leucadia, Chula Vista, Ramona, Jamul and Campo.

The City's Housing Division is pleased to inform you that Lofts on Landis, developed and operated by Wakeland Housing and Community Development, has been selected as one of the showcased eco-friendly projects featuring
Innovative and high performance design that impacts energy, water conservation, building materials, indoor air quality, landscaping, and sustainable building sites. This past September 2016, Lofts on Landis received its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification.

Lofts on Landis (Chula Vista) – This new 33-unit affordable housing community in the city’s downtown was built using an integrated design that incorporated sustainability at all stages of development, including principles of smart growth and a “whole systems” approach to construction. It exceeds Title 24 energy-efficiency requirements by 34.9 percent and has achieved LEED Platinum certification, EPA Indoor airPLUS, EPA Energy Star, California Advanced Homes and New Solar Homes Partnership status.
