The Avondale Estates Police Department is investigating two incidents of entering autos in the 100 block of Wiltshire Dr. The incidents occurred in the overnight hours and only one vehicle had an item taken from inside (an iPod). Both vehicles were unlocked at the time of the incidents and no suspects are known at this time. We would like to advise everyone to please keep the doors to your homes and vehicles locked when not in use and to keep any valuables out of sight and away from prying eyes. Purses, wallets, firearms and other valuables should be removed from the vehicle when parked for the night. Please keep in mind that we are heading into the holiday season and the crimes of opportunity can be more likely if valuables are in the open or can be seen by a passer-by.
