Troopers Investigating Road Rage Incident on I-70 that Led to one Driver Shooting at Another
Indianapolis, IN - Just before 11:00 this morning the Indiana State Police, along with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers, responded to a report of shots fired on I-70 westbound near Rural Street. The driver of a semi tractor-trailer called 911 to report he was shot at by a passing vehicle. He told police the vehicle then exited off I-70 onto East Street and fled the area. At least one bullet struck the semi, breaking the driver's side window and lodging into the headliner of the truck. The driver was not injured.
The suspect vehicle is described as an older tan Oldsmobile Aurora with a temporary paper plate on the right side of the back window. The Oldmobile entered I-70 westbound from Rural Street and was occupied by two black males.
This is an ongoing investigation at this time, anybody with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477)
