Stabbing at Wal-Mart
On November 8th, at 8:56 pm, Morgan Hill Police Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart, located at 170 Cochrane Plaza on a report of a possible stabbing that occurred in front of the store.
While responding to the call, officers learned a male and female had fled the scene in a silver colored small SUV and were last seen traveling south on Ca highway 101. Information was sent out to surrounding law enforcement agencies advising of the crime and possible vehicle involved. During the investigation, officers learned a male and female had entered the store and were acting suspicious while selecting store merchandise. Loss Prevention Officers suspected the two subjects were preparing to leave the store without paying for the goods. A Loss Prevention Officer and the assistant store manager contacted the couple as they left the store. The male pulled out a small knife and stabbed the assistant manager on the forearm causing a non-life threatening injury. The male and female then fled the area.
During the investigation Gilroy Police contacted the Morgan Hill Police dispatch center advising they located the suspect vehicle in Gilroy. Gilroy Police were able to detain both subjects until Morgan Hill Police were able to respond down to Gilroy with the victims. Once in Gilroy the victims were able to positively identify the male and female as being the ones who were involved in the incident at Wal-Mart. Based on the positive identification a search of the suspect’s vehicle produced a knife and the stolen property taken from Wal-mart. The suspects were identified as 31 year old Noel Calderon out of Gilroy and 22 year old Kimberly Angeles out of Morgan Hill.
Calderon and Angeles were charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. Suspect Calderon also had a $50,000.00 outstanding warrant for robbery out of San Jose Police. Both suspects were later transported and booked in to the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
