The Downey Police Department will be having a “Memorial Plaque Dedication Ceremony” on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 9:00am to the front of the police station. The formal ceremony will include the unveiling of a memorial plaque for Downey Police Officer Ricardo Galvez who was killed in the line of duty on November 18, 2015. The plaque will be added to the fallen officer’s memorial to the front of the police station. The ceremony should last approximately 30 minutes and is open to the public.
