On 11/09/2016 just after 1:00 pm, alleged non-complaint registered sex offender 31 year old Matthew Ray Epperson of rural Orland surrendered himself to the Steuben County Jail without incident. Earlier that day, an arrest warrant had been issued by the Steuben Superior Court charging Epperson with one count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a level 5 felony. The warrant came after a Sheriff’s Office investigation involving Epperson allegedly failing to comply with Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry law. Epperson was booked into the Steuben County Jail and remains held in lieu of a $5,000.00 bond.
