On Wednesday November 8, 2016, the Signal Hill Police Department partnered with Applebee’s and the Special Olympics to deliver an extra level of service to local diners.  The purpose of the Tip-A-Cop event was to raise funds and build public awareness for local Special Olympics Athletes.  Officers and other Department staff worked alongside Applebee’s servers to provide a memorable evening and exceptional service for diners.  In return diners gave donations totally $4,400 dollars toward Special Olympics.

Chief Michael Langston said, “The event has been a huge success.  We are incredibly humbled by the display of support from local residents and businesses.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Police Department and this very worthy cause.”
