According to the Georgia Forestry Commission, several fires have been active in the northwestern part of Georgia for the past few days and a forest fire in Lookout Mountain recently became active.

The prevailing winds have recently shifted causing the smoke from these fires to permeate Morgan County.

NOTICE: All outdoor burning must have a permit and is good only for natural vegetative materials. It is unlawful to burn man made materials such as tires, shingles, plastics, lumber, household garbage, etc.
