Anderson K-9 “Aero” Collars Narcotic Offender

On Tuesday, November 15th 2016, at a little after 9:00 P.M., an Anderson Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on 34 year old, Anderson resident, Jessica Renee Martinez in the area of Pinion Avenue near Hemlock Avenue. Martinez who has a significant amount of priors for narcotic related violations was arrested during the contact after an Anderson Police Department Canine “Aero” was deployed to conduct an exterior vehicle sniff of Martinez’ vehicle.

“Aero” alerted to the presence of an odor of controlled substances coming from the vehicle and officers subsequently conducted a search. Several Digital Scales, narcotic packaging materials and methamphetamine was located and seized by officers during the search. It was determined during the investigation that Martinez was in possession of the methamphetamine and transporting the methamphetamine for the purposes of sales.

Martinez was booked into the Shasta County Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant and for one felony count of possessing a controlled substance for sales. Charges will also be filed and forwarded to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.
