Three Alleged Thieves Captured
Three Alleged Thieves Captured
Jeffersonville-Today shortly after 3:00 am, because of recent thefts being reported by construction workers, troopers were patrolling Interstate #265 checking the construction areas and construction equipment on Interstate 265 East, near the 10 Mile Marker in Clark County.
While patrolling in the area, officers encountered two males walking on the shoulder of Interstate #265 near the 10 Mile Marker. While speaking to the two individuals, officers noticed a third male subject trying to scale a nearby fence in an obvious attempt to get away from the troopers. He was stopped and all three of the subjects were detained for further investigation. During the investigation troopers located several articles of alleged stolen property taken just minutes before the troopers stopped the three individuals. The thefts were from a neighborhood in Jeffersonville within walking distance of where they were stopped by troopers.
The suspected stolen property was identified by victims in the neighborhood as articles left inside their vehicles.
All three of the subjects were arrested on the charges of Theft, Criminal Conversion, and False Informing and were incarcerated at the Clark County Jail.
Arrested:
Jacob H. James, 19, of Capital Hills Drive in Jeffersonville.
Robert Volpert Jr., 20, of Old Creek Lane in Jeffersonville.
Andrew Caldwell, 18, of Sun Flower Court in Jeffersonville.
Media Note-Photos of all of the arrested can be obtained by contacting the Clark County Jail.
