Full Notification

Santa Maria firefighters responded to a fire in a single family dwelling. The fire was reported in a house where Santa Maria PD was attempting to make contact with a barricaded suspect. One engine company and a Battalion Chief were on standby to assist PD with the incident. Upon arrival of the first fire unit, smoke was visible from the front door and rear corner of the home. Additional units were requested. In total, four engines and one truck company responded with a Battalion Chief. The fire involved two rooms and caused smoke damage throughout the home. Santa Maria PD took one suspect into custody. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
