After a lengthy, unexpected delay, the Sumpter Township emergency siren that was struck by a vehicle on July 6th has been replaced and in now fully operational. The siren, located at 17400 Savage Rd. (just south of Bemis Rd.) covers the far northeast corner of the township.

Even though our fourteen sirens are strategically placed throughout the township to overlap each other in terms of audible coverage, those who live/work near the 17400 Savage location where not able to hear an activation at the normal volume they were accustomed to while the siren was being replaced (due to the nearest siren being at Martinsville and Willis Rds.). That issue is now corrected.
