Modesto, CA – Late Night Security Check Call Turns Into Homicide Investigation
On November, 17th 2016 at approximately 10:30 PM, Modesto Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 Block of Edison Ave after receiving the request for a security check. Officers arrived and contacted 61 year old resident Steven Oliver. During their investigation officers checked the residence and located an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound. AMR responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified at 61 year old Sylvia Oliver, Steven’s wife.
Modesto Police Department Homicide Detectives were called out and took over the investigation. Details surrounding incident and motives have yet to be determined as the investigation is in the preliminary stages. Steven Oliver has been booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for Homicide.
