DUI Collision in Chula Vista Results in Serious Injuries
On 11/20/16, at approximately 10:05 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department received 911 calls reporting a serious traffic accident in the 300 block of Montclair Street.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered a female pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported to UCSD hospital. The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian was not injured.
The preliminary investigation indicates this collision was caused by an intoxicated driver who veered from the roadway and struck the pedestrian from behind as she was placing items into the trunk of her vehicle. The driver, who struck the pedestrian, was arrested for felony DUI.
