Impaired Driver Arrested after Causing Three Vehicle Crash

Vigo County—Last evening at 4:50, Indiana State Police responded to a three vehicle crash at the intersection of US 40 and Wabash Avenue. There were no injuries, but one driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and an outstanding warrant.

Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound 2000 Chevrolet, driven by 31-year-old Adrian Morris of Indianapolis, IN., failed to stop for a red light and struck two other vehicles. During the crash investigation, troopers noticed Adrian Morris appeared to display signs of alcohol intoxication, discovered he was providing a false identification, and found he had no valid driver’s license. Morris was transported to the Vigo County Jail where he tested .19% BAC. Morris was also found to have an outstanding Vigo County warrant for Operating While Intoxicated.

Adrian Morris was charged with Operating While Intoxicated .15 or greater with a prior (felony); Operating While Intoxicated Endangering Persons with Prior (felony); Habitual Traffic Violator (felony); False Informing (misdemeanor); No Proof of Insurance with Prior (misdemeanor); and traffic infractions of open container and disregarding light signal.

Investigating the crash and making the arrest were Troopers Brad Fyfe and Brian Thomas.
