Indiana State Police First Sergeant Retires After 28 Years of Service
Peru – Indiana State Police First Sergeant Lonie Slisher has retired after serving with the Indiana State Police Department for 28 years. Slisher graduated from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on December 19, 1987. He was assigned as a trooper to the Indiana State Police Peru Post. He worked road patrol duties primarily in Miami County.
Throughout his 28 year career, Slisher served as a detective, a corporal duty officer, and as the assistant commander for Indiana State Police Peru Post. Slisher finished his career as the assistant commander for the garage section of the Indiana State Police Logistics Division.
During his career, First Sergeant Slisher served as a longtime member of the Indiana State Police Special Weapons and Tactics Team. He also served on the Tactical Intervention Platoon and as a field training officer.
Prior to being a trooper, Slisher served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He is a graduate of Caston High School and currently resides in Miami County.
