2016 HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Westwood Police Department would like to remind you about the Home for the Holidays Celebration to be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM in downtown Westwood.
This will be the 19th parade and will kick off the 2016 holiday season. The 'Home for the Holidays' celebration will encompass the downtown area and Veterans' Memorial Park. Westwood Avenue (from Broadway to Kinderkamack Road) will be closed to all parking and through traffic from 5 PM until approximately 9 PM.. Parking will be permitted on surrounding streets where legal. Please be mindful of temporary no parking signs, blocking private driveways, crosswalks, fire hydrants, local business and emergency vehicle access points. DO NOT drive around traffic cones or on closed streets. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed. It is highly recommended that you arrive early to ensure advantageous parking and viewing locations. For your safety please keep your family and children ON the sidewalks and OFF of Westwood Avenue during the parade procession. Police officers will be stationed throughout the Downtown area so please feel free to ask for any assistance. Lost children and parents will be reunited at the WPD Mobile Command Post located at southwest corner of Broadway and Westwood Avenue.
Traffic throughout the Borough will be very congested so if you are not attending the event please plan an alternate route so as to avoid this area. If you are having a function in this area which maybe complicated by this event please contact the WPD Traffic Bureau well in advance for assistance at 201-664-7000 (Ext. 157).
Residents, organizations and businesses that would like to become involved with the planning of this year's event or persons having any other questions regarding this event may contact the Westwood Recreation Department at 201-664-7882.
