Indianapolis Man Killed in Early Morning Single Vehicle Crash on I-70
Indianapolis - Troopers from the Indiana State Police are trying to determine what caused a single vehicle fatal crash around 5:17 this morning. Emergency crews were called to I-70 eastbound on the collector to I-465 near the 72 mile marker for a serious crash. Upon arrival, 35 year old Daff Lalhmuakliana of Indianapolis was found unresponsive inside a badly damaged 2009 Toyota Camry. Medics from the Indianapolis Fire Department administered life saving measures until pronouncing the victim deceased at the scene. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
Prelimanary investigation determined the Toyota ran off the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a large interstate sign post. The driver was wearing his seat belt and airbags did deploy. Police were able to gather limited information from witnesses that saw the vehicle run off the road. The family of the deceased has been notified and the Marion County Coronor's Office will continue to investigate the cause of death.
