STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED AT ANDERSON WAL-MART 
On Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at approximately 6:40 am, Officers from the Anderson Police Department were on routine patrol in the Anderson Wal-Mart parking lot when an Officer observed a 1998 Cadillac STS sedan parked near the south side of the lot. A records check of the license plate revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Sacramento, CA.
The initial Officer on scene crept up to the vehicle and observed there were two male suspects inside sleeping soundly. The Officer radioed for backup units who arrived shortly thereafter. The slumbering suspects were awoken by several APD Officers and both suspects detained without incident.
One suspect, who was identified as Jeremy Allen McDuffie, 29 years old of Martinez, CA was arrested for the suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and booked at the Shasta County Jail. The registered owner of the vehicle was notified via telephone the vehicle was located and requested it be towed from the scene.
The second suspect was released after receiving a citation for an Anderson Municipal Code violation for sleeping in public.
