On Tuesday, December 13th, starting at 9 AM, the Morgan Hill Police Officers’ Association will be hosting our second Shop with a Cop event in Morgan Hill. On behalf of the POA, I invite you to join us for this wonderful occasion.

The MHPOA hosts a yearly golf tournament in order to fundraise. All funds raised are then given back to the Morgan Hill community during the holiday season. This year, we have chosen to host a Heroes & Helpers / Shop with a Cop event. Shop with a Cop pairs children from all Morgan Hill Unified School District elementary schools with an officer. Each child is awarded a $100 shopping spree at Target and will shop with a uniformed Morgan Hill police officer.

Fourth grade teachers were asked to pick children based on the following criteria:
• The student is an example for others.
• The student is a leader.
• The student is self-motivated.
• The student is self-disciplined.
• The student is socially responsible.

This is an opportunity for the future leaders of our community to be awarded and recognized for their hard work and dedication to being role models. More importantly, this is an opportunity for these children to have a positive interaction with a local police officer in order to foster better relations and change perceptions. Approximately 125 children will be chosen to participate in this event.

We hope you can stop by and cover this fun event. This event will surely promote a feel good story for our community. The event will run from 9 AM to approximately 10:30 AM at the Target store on Cochrane Avenue in Morgan Hill.
