Modesto, CA – A Modesto woman is deceased following an early morning solo vehicle collision on Standiford Avenue near Longbridge Avenue.
At about 1:00 a.m., officers responded to several 9-1-1 calls reporting that a woman was unconscious in a car following a collision into a tree. Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and determined that the 29-year-old driver, Gisela Flores, suffered fatal injuries.
The early investigation indicates that Flores was driving alone in a 2010 Honda Accord, westbound on Standiford Avenue. She collided with a light pole near Tully and continued driving. As she neared Longbridge, she lost control of her car and collided with a tree. Investigating officers believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the collision.
As a standard procedure, the Modesto Police Department Traffic Unit has initiated a comprehensive collision investigation and encourages anyone with information to contact Officer Phillips at [email protected].
