Overnight Traffic Stop Yields Two Arrests
Vigo County—Last night at 11:51, Trooper Kyle Hall stopped a silver 2007 Saturn passenger car on US 41 at Poplar Street in Terre Haute for failure to signal a turn. During conversations with the occupants, Trooper Hall noticed indicators of possible criminal activity. Trooper Ian Portteus and K-9 Czar were nearby and arrived to assist with Czar giving a positive indication for illegal drugs. Under five grams of methamphetamine were located, along with a syringe and assorted paraphernalia.
The occupants initially provided false identification information, but were ultimately identified as 34-year-old Amber D. Jones (driver) and 30-year-old Travis Jones (passenger). Both were incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, false informing, and false identity statement. In addition, Amber Jones was found to be wanted on Vigo County warrants for ten counts of conversion, along with a small claims warrant. Amber Jones was also charged with no valid license. Travis Jones was also found to be wanted on a Vigo County small claims warrant.
Investigating officer was Trooper Kyle Hall. Assisting were ISP K-9 Handler Trooper Ian Portteus and Czar and Trooper Brad Fyfe.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
