Lomita Station Detectives Seeking Additional Victims of Fraud By False Pretenses
During 2015 and 2016, Suspect Michael Patrick Bird has entered numerous South Bay businesses and posed as a salesman for “Big Team Media.” Bird told the potential customers that he made and sold maps containing business names and locations. He promised to disseminate the maps throughout the South Bay to over 50,000 locations in order to gain business for these customers. Bird then provided the customers with an open-ended contract and collected payment from them. Subsequently, Bird never produced any product. Several victims have already been identified and Lomita Station detectives are seeking others. Victims are asked to contact Detective Hoy at (310) 891-3234 and provide the “Big Team Media” business agreement, method of payment and or copies of their payment.
