Modesto, CA – Detectives are investigating a late night homicide that left a Modesto woman dead.

At about midnight, officers responded to a report of a 26-year-old shooting victim being treated at a local hospital. Witnesses reported that the victim had been shot while inside a closed garage of a residence she was visiting in the 1800 block of Floyd Avenue.

Detectives responded to the residence and found that an unknown suspect shot at the garage multiple times. The 26-year-old victim was shot at least once prior to being transported by family to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. No one else inside the home was injured.

As detectives continue to uncover the details leading up to the shooting and who may be involved, they encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636.
