Delaware County Crash Sends One to Hospital

Delaware County - A crash on SR 332 about a half mile west of CR 500 W. sent an Anderson woman to I. U. Healths Ball Hospital this morning with minor injuries.  Trooper Eric Perkins responded to the area about 7:10 a.m. this morning after over hearing the call on Delaware County Dispatch.

The investigation shows that a gray 2004 Saab driven by Ashley Patterson, age 28 of Anderson, was eastbound on SR 332 at a high rate of speed when she lost control trying to switch lanes just west of CR 500 W.

The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on it's top.  Patterson, who was able to get out of the vehicle, was transported from the scene by Delaware County EMS with minor injuries. Trooper Perkins cited Patterson for Speed Too Fast To Avoid Collision, and  Driving while Suspended.

It is believed that Patterson had earlier failed to stop and fled from Madison County Deputies, who had terminated their pursuit. Madison County is continuing their investigation. Trooper Perkins was assisted at the scene by Delaware County Sheriff's Department, Yorktown Police and Fire Departments, Gaston Fire and Delaware County EMS.
