Commercial Vehicle Inspection Results in Arrest
Putnam County—This afternoon at 12:15, an Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement trooper stopped a 2011 purple Freightliner tractor for a routine commercial vehicle inspection on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 43 mile-marker. During the inspection and conversations with the driver, the trooper noticed possible indicators of criminal activity.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately 9.4 grams of suspected crystal Methamphetamine, approximately 1.4 grams of suspected Heroin, assorted drug paraphernalia items, and 15 cloned debit cards containing stolen credit card numbers and personal information were located. He was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail. The driver was transporting medical supplies from California to Pennsylvania.
Arrested: Tiran Bachkhyan, age 56, of Pasadena, California
Charges: Possession of Meth over five grams, level four felony
Possession of Narcotic drug, level six felony
Forgery/Counterfeiting, level six felony
Assisting was another ISP CMV trooper.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
